Nathan Monroe Joins Political Science Department
Professor Nathan Monroe, currently an assistant professor at Michigan State University, will join the Pacific Political Science Department beginning in Fall semester 2007. With the addition of Professor Monroe to the faculty and the likely hiring of another political scientist specializing in Middle East politics, Pacific should have a total of 12 political scientists on the university faculty.
Professor Monroe is a native of the Modesto, CA area. He earned his PhD at UC-San Diego. His research focuses on the importance of political parties in Congress, especially in the Senate.
At Pacific, Professor Monroe will teach courses in Congressional politics, research methods, and politics in film.
His non-academic interests include baseball and poker.
