Unfamiliar faces have been appearing in our classrooms. The Political Science department is hiring two new faculty members. One of the new professors will teach Political Theory. The other will be a specialist in electoral politics and will teach courses in campaigns and elections, public opinion, and related topics. So far, Prof. Tim Dale from Notre Dame University has visited campus to interview for the Political Theory position. His interests are in the area of education and democratic theory. Prof. Karen Zivi from the University of Southern California will visit on January 27. Her work investigates a rights-based approach to feminism.
Prof. Sarah Fulton from Texas A&M University has visited to interview for the electoral behavior job. Her research focuses on why women decide to or decide not to run for Congress. Maybe she can interview our own Dean Ensign. On January 31, Professor Richard Skinner from Bowdoin College will be interviewing. His research focuses on party networks.
No matter whom we hire we are confident that we will add some exciting new professors to our department.
